Position Summary:The Lead Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and developing Business Intelligence (BI) front-end solutions. The position is also responsible for requirements gathering, project management, constructing functional designs, communicating with team members and business stakeholders, and supporting existing business intelligence applications.People or Process Management Responsibility:Works on multiple, complex projects as a project leader and a subject matter expert.Required Skills and Experience:
4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related discipline6 to 8 years of relevant work experience, particularly as a software programmer or business analystAt least 3 years of BI application development experienceAt least 2 years Cognos experience, with excellent Cognos development skills, specifically around Framework Manager, Report Studio, TransformerExcellent SQL skillsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsStrong presentation skills including the ability to interact with top-level business leadersMust exemplify leadership and salesmanship qualities to promote BI solutions throughout the organizationStrong competence in gathering and documenting business requirements, defining optimal BI solutions to business problemsStrong understanding of SDLC best practices with an emphasis on DW/BI practicesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with Cognos SDK, Cognos Metrics Studio, Cognos Event StudioExperience creating visually appealing reports for executive leadership and/or external clientsExperience with JavascriptQualifications
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Design, develop and support of front-end solutions in Cognos.Responsible for requirements gathering and project management of BI projects.Provide Cognos training to business users.Promote BI solutions/capabilities to the business user community.Interact with other BI team members, offshore team members, and cross-IT staff on support and project activities.Interact with business users and business leadership to provide solutions to their reporting and analytical needs.Assist with task identification and effort estimates for front-end development.Assist with risk and issue identification.Other projects or duties as assigned.Additional Information
