Today, we continue to achieve our mission “to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children” by providing a full range of behavioral health, early childhood and youth development, substance use treatment and support services for children, adults and families in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut region.Starting annual salary: $63,320 commensurate with experience including a $5,000 sign on bonusAre you excited about working with children and families affected by trauma to help them make real and meaningful change in their lives? Join our Eagle House psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) to create individualized treatment plans for children and families as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.Schedule:Monday-Tuesday 9-6pm, Wednesday 8-5 or 10-7pm (Flex Day), Thursday 10-7pm, Friday 8-5pm.Eagle House Responsibilities:The clinician will provide individual, group, and family therapy in the program, collaborate with collateral providers, provide on-call clinical support to the program, provide clinical leadership and assistance to milieu staff in working with children in crisis, maintain clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, and Medicaid regulations as appropriate, attend and facilitate treatment meetings for clients, maintain insurance authorization on each client by conducting initial and monthly authorizations, and conduct clinical in-service trainings for program staff. Additionally, they will:Participate in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) training and monthly follow-up consultation.Engage in intake, assessment, diagnosing, and discharge planning, using a trauma-informed approach.Provide individual, group, and family therapy in the program.Provide treatment in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team.Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and training to ensure professional growth and needed skills in trauma-informed treatment.Participate in and facilitate clients’ treatment meetings.Ensure adherence to organizational and program policies and procedures.Contribute to program and agency’s functioning by providing clinical guidance/direction to program staff.Opportunity to contribute to the agency initiatives, visibility, and development of community linkages by assisting on task force and/or representing the Village in community groups or committees.Participate in on-call rotation with teammates to support clients/families in times of crisis (24/7). There is a supplemental stipend for weeks on call. On-call services after hours are by phone, not in person.JOB SUMMARYThe Clinician provides direct services to clients, in the office, school, or other identified settings to meet the unique needs of families served. Unlicensed clinicians are hired prior to obtaining their license to practice as mental health practitioners (i.e. psychology, social work, LMFT, LPC, LADC). Unlicensed clinicians will receive supervision by a licensed clinician and may be offered training opportunities. When eligible, all unlicensed clinicians are expected to obtain licensure in order to be considered for ongoing employment at The Village.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDirect services may include, but are not limited to:Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and engagement.Determine DSM V Diagnosis in consultation with Supervisor and Medical Director or designated Psychiatrist, as needed.Develop treatment plans and contracts for services.Implement treatment plans, modifying them as appropriate during the course of treatment.Discharge planning, which may include linkages to community support services.Provide case management services.Complete clinical documentation required by agency and program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources.Maintain productivity targets determined by service.Participate and present in Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance Reviews.Foster collaboration with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.Partner with other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients’ unmet needs or service gaps.Acquire and maintain the needed skills in evidence-based models that the agency/program ascribe to.Partner with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth.Contribute to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate.Contribute to agency organizational life by participating in agency-wide task forces, committees, or problem-solving teams as appropriate.Contribute to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees.Experience and Skills
EDUCATIONMSW or equivalent required with a minimum of 3 years’ postgraduate clinical experience preferred.Clinical degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed-eligible counseling degree.LMSW or equivalent required and licensed eligible.EXPERIENCEMust be able to function independently and seek guidance when necessary.Strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills for individual, family, and group therapy.Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations; cultural competency to serve a diverse population.Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.Ability to write professional/clinical reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV).Good knowledge of a variety of therapeutic interventions and models emphasizing empirically validated interventions.Skill to maintain a professional, confidential work environment.Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in an efficient manner.Ability to relate to children and families in a positive manner.Ability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with children and families.Good organizational and communication skills.
