Senior Solutions Architect, Strategic Segment - AoA

As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Senior Solutions Architect within the Strategic Accounts segment, you are responsible for partnering with our most valuable customers to design cloud architectures utilizing AWS services. In this role, you will help our customers solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing products/services to the market or building an elastic, scalable, cost optimized application. You will engage with product owners to influence product direction and help our customers tap into new markets by utilizing AWS Services. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation.As a core member of the account team, you will drive usage and adoption across a specific customer. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand and implement advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and scale existing workloads in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.For this role, we are looking for folks who have technical breadth complemented by technical depth in one or two areas, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the business value of the AWS platform and services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for engaging with Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VP’s and CXOs.If you are excited about the prospect of using your cloud architecture experience to assist our most valuable customers, tackling challenging problems, having a hand in shaping the future of cloud adoption, enhancing and growing your own skills, and having fun, then we would love to hear from you.Key job responsibilities:Strategic account SAs build long-term customer relationships, getting to know the details of each customer’s environment and business.They offer strong technical guidance and proactively seek to improve the architectural position of the customer.Minimum Qualifications:8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experienceBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent5+ years experience developing technology solutions and evangelizing end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing5+ years experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.Preferred Qualifications:AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certificationProfessional experience architecting, operating cloud-based solutionsExperience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloudDemonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly, and manage high ambiguityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developersAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
