Incumbents may determine best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are very complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's goals and may go beyond the department. Works under minimum supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures, and methods are referred to the manager or expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work. May be considered the expert in areas assigned. Builds internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing some explanations in a problem-solving capacity.Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:Ensures compliance with import/export regulations through user awareness and education for internal and external customers.Develops procedures and training to raise site/company awareness. Implements and conducts regulatory audits to ensure compliance with government and corporate policies.Traces inbound/outbound shipments to advise internal customers of parts receipt dates.Expedites shipments through carrier and customs as required.Provides ongoing support in resolving process/execution issues with internal customers.Maintains applicable system tables in support of related activity.Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Basic understanding and interpretation of traffic and logistics laws, rules, and regulations.Good knowledge of import/export rules and regulations, compliance, and documentation requirements.Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in relevant business applications.Basic math, data entry, and 10-key skills.Basic understanding of internal and external customer requirements.Ability to identify and resolve process issues related to area of responsibility.Demonstrates ability to solve problems of limited scope and perform root cause analysis.Able to organize and work with representatives from site business areas to communicate and educate in area of responsibility.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers at varying levels.Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.Typical Experience
Four to six years of relevant experience.Typical Education
