Job Summary:
Paideia is an independent, progressive pre-K through 12 college-preparatory school in the Emory University area of Atlanta. The technology systems specialist is part of the technology team, which supports faculty, staff, and students with general tech support needs. The person in this role will be heavily involved with Paideia’s upcoming SIS transition to the Veracross platform, which will include working closely with the data systems administrator, director of technology, and Veracross implementation team to ensure data accuracy, manage constituent accounts, design reports, and assist with training of the faculty and staff throughout the transition, implementation, and beyond.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will provide backup and assistance to the other technology team members, with focuses on database and network maintenance and mobile device management. Expertise across all areas is not a requirement, but a preferred candidate should be willing to learn and be trained in all aspects of supporting the needs of the technology department. While this is not a teaching position, technology team members occasionally teach special classes for faculty or assist teachers with technology-related instruction and projects.
Additional responsibilities include:
Providing staff members with technical assistance and training in the proper use of school information systems
Creation of reports based on school data
Assisting with the configuration, deployment, and updating of computer hardware and software
Providing tech support and training to faculty, staff, and students with their use of school-provided equipment and programs
Other duties as assigned by the director of technology. These may include but are not limited to:
Maintaining order and upkeep of the technology labs and office spaces
Assist with the handling and inventory of technology devices and peripherals
Assist with the creation/updating of user accounts and groups
Provide oversight and guidance to student intern
Provide backup support as needed to other members of the technology team
Required Skills and Abilities:
Some experience working with data systems, preferably in a school environment
Familiarity with Apple computers, iPads, and related software
Experience/proficiency with Windows-based systems
Experience with learning management systems and/or some coding/programming skills
Prior experience with Veracross is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Competencies in current technology and technology-educational trends
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting tasks
