Position:
Junior Application DeveloperUSA Wrestling is seeking a self-motivated Junior Application Developer to work with the Applications Development Director (ADD) to plan, coordinate, and execute all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of USA Wrestling’s Membership Management Utility (MMU), USA Wrestling’s Event Management System (EMS), and USA Wrestling Website Entities.Duties and Responsibilities:Support, maintain, and expand the development of the MMU and EMS software systems; including gathering requirements, database management, software development, testing, implementation, user follow up, support, and projects.Participate in technology decisions and input that impact software development.Maintain the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications.Work on the pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals to identify potential problems and make recommendations for favorable outcomes.Identify and resolve program errors to ensure quality control and positive user experience.Review and analyze existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.Manage design, development, and installation of enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.Work on other IT projects as assigned.Qualifications:Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field; equivalent work experience accepted.1 to 3 years of IT and business/industry experience. Recent graduates with related internship experiences are also encouraged to apply.Proficiency in backend development languages such as PHP, Node.js, or Java.Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.Creative and effective problem-solving abilities.A passion for innovation, with a keen interest in exploring new technologies and methodologies.Ability to pass a criminal background screen administered by USA Wrestling’s provider.Ability to successfully complete Safe Sport training within two weeks of hire date and prior to interacting with athletes.Technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management, and other related disciplines/processes.Knowledge of AWS Architecture or exposure to Cloud environments.Knowledge of SQL databases, understanding their integration into cloud-based applications.Familiarity with security best practices in the cloud environment.Familiarity with Jira.Hiring Pay Range:Compensation commensurate with experience: $70,000 - $85,000 per year.• Paid vacation, personal and sick time• Over 10 paid holidays per year• Medical, dental, and vision insuranceOther Information:The USA Wrestling Office is located in Colorado Springs, CO - ability to work from the office is required.USA Wrestling is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Application Process:
