You will play a critical role in enhancing our organization by using data and analytics to drive business strategy, increase automation and enhance the usage of data. This role requires working closely with process teams, cross-functional teams and project teams to ensure business needs are met that will be used to drive business decisions and improve processes.On any given day you will be:Analyzing data to arrive at specific and crucial information for the organizationIdentifying and implementing process, data and reporting improvements for the organizationCreating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledgeMigrating manual reporting and reconciliation processes into automated solutionsWorking with large and complex databases containing millions of recordsWhat you will be doingIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data setsDesign advanced data queries based on the organization’s needs. Extract, validate and analyze desired dataMine and manipulate structured, semi-structured and unstructured data from predominately the enterprise data warehouse, along with other disparate sources, to provide data reporting for regular production and ad hoc requests using a variety of analytical tools, including but not limited to: SQL, Python, Spotfire, Power BI or related BI software.Develop reports and interactive Dashboards for managementAssemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirementsDevelop requirements for data-related projects and work with the IT team to see projects from start to finishPerform setup/testing for new data needs while utilizing quantitative techniques to test hypotheses and analyze the impact of updatesSolve complex problems utilizing creative solutions and new perspectivesConduct root cause analysis to determine reason for an issue, impact of that issue and propose solution to resolve the issueBecome an expert in In-Force Pricing data, including upstream and downstream uses and implicationsWork with cross-departmental teams to understand and capture data analysis and reporting requirements, including the metrics and methodologies to be usedProject management, prioritization, and managing at times multiple potentially conflicting priorities are part and parcel to this role.What you bringBachelor's degree in an analytical or technical disciplineAt least 5 years of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and data modeling experience in a dynamic environment.Minimum 3 years experience in using Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and/or similar data analytics, visualization and business intelligence toolsMinimum 2 years experience in scripting languages, such as VBA, Python, and/or RHands-on Advanced SQLAdvanced skills with Microsoft Excel (e.g. developing pivot tables, linking to external data, automating with VBA, etc.).Data Analysis & Trending experience with demonstrated proficiency in analytical methodologies, tools, and dashboard development to interpret, visualize, simplify and present/communicate data, analyses, results and findingsSelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple and changing prioritiesAbility to influence and work collaboratively in a team.
