To help guide the collaborative effort, we are in search of a Software Engineer II to join our team.We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about developing solutions that meet business needs, is a quick learner, enjoys daily interaction with business and technology teams, and is comfortable learning new technologies and platforms while working in a fast-paced environment. This role is part of our illustrations team that supports our ESD department.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Applies engineering standard methodologies to analyze and develop software solutions.Develops software using established development and continuous integration practices.Designs, coordinates, and drives high impact solutions across teams both within and outside their division.Establishes, aggregates, and shares enterprise standards and best practices.Conducts code evaluations.Participates in release cycle and deployments.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.1-3 years professional experience required.Familiarity using continuous integration and deployment concepts.At least 1 year experience with specific technical requirements/platforms in UI development (i.e. JavaScript, React, Redux, as well as micro-frontend architecture).Familiarity with various testing methodologies (Jest, playwright).Strong technical skills.Strong logical thinking and deductive reasoning.Understanding of the business domain.Can communicate clearly to the business.Benefits:Tuition reimbursement, commuter plans, and paid time off.Highly competitive compensation that include base salary plus bonus.Medical/Dental/Vision plans, 401(k), pension program.Compensation Range:Pay Range - Start: $82,670.00Pay Range - End: $153,530.00Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure.
