Senior- Level Network Engineer

LATG is looking to hire a Senior-Level Network Engineer that can install multi-manufacturers hardware such as cables, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless adaptors. Applicant will be expected to analyze network documentation and communicate to clients regarding the current operational status of networks. You will need to be able to prepare consultation, support, and guidance to organizations and clients; also develop and conduct training as needed. You will be expected to perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems; as well as upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
Qualifications
BS/CS/CE technical degree required
Possess a minimum of 3+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, and Wifi solutions
Experience with routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols
Knowledge in the following areas: Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN
Understanding of the networking technology landscape
Experience with Cisco/Fortinet/Aruba networking
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and industry frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls.
Responsibilities
Network Security Architecture:
Design, implement, and maintain network security architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure access controls.
Develop and enforce network segmentation strategies to isolate critical assets, applications, and sensitive data from potential threats.
Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of network security controls to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Threat Detection and Response:
Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents in real-time.
Investigate security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, and other suspicious activities, and implement appropriate countermeasures to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with incident response teams to develop incident response plans and procedures and participate in incident response activities as needed.
Access Control and Authentication:
Implement and manage access control mechanisms, including role-based access controls (RBAC), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and identity management solutions.
Ensure proper authentication and authorization processes are in place to authenticate users, devices, and applications accessing the network.
Regularly review and update access control policies and configurations to align with security requirements and industry best practices.
Security Monitoring and Analysis:
Deploy and configure security monitoring tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), packet capture, and log analysis systems, to monitor network activities for security threats.
Analyze security logs, alerts, and traffic patterns to identify potential security incidents, anomalies, and emerging threats.
Develop and maintain security incident response playbooks and workflows to facilitate timely and effective response to security events.
Security Policy Development and Compliance:
Develop, review, and enforce network security policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to address security gaps, remediate vulnerabilities, and improve overall security posture.
