We manufacture and distribute a diverse range of superior building materials, products, and solutions, which are used extensively in construction projects of all sizes.Job SummaryReporting to the GTS Process Director, The GTS Cementitious Manager will advise, challenge and assist CRH cement Operating Companies in developing their product portfolio through the use of existing SCMs, and the development of innovative and emerging materials.They will recommend operational and industrial process improvements to plant management teams to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability while reducing their Clinker Ratio.Job ResponsibilitiesLead Cementitious Strategy on behalf of GTS.Analyze plant operations and propose Clinker Ratio reduction recommendations including Cost/Benefit Analysis.Support plants operational troubleshooting while introducing a new SCM or increasing SCM rates.Work closely with the Quality Task Force in areas such as clinker reactivity and saturation factor.Co-ordinate cementitious industrial trials in CRH cement plants.Prepare comprehensive reports on clinker ratio reduction initiatives.Assure alignment of different stakeholders involved in clinker ratio reduction.Educate, train and develop plant teams on the use of SCM’s.Work closely with commercial teams, ensuring a good understanding of market acceptance when introducing new low clinker cements.Work closely with Chemical Additive providers: Grinding Aids, Strength Enhancers, Admixtures, Water reducers, etc.Work closely with CRH Cementitious trading Group (CTT) and sourcing of SCMs.Ensure current/future cement & concrete standards requirements are well considered.Co-ordinate interactions of clinker ratio reduction and potential impact on other CRH downstream businesses.Ensure Clinker Ratio reduction is aligned with overall CO2 reduction roadmaps.Lead Carbon Reduction Council (CRC) WG5 dealing with Cementitious Materials and contribute to CRC WG7 on Cement Portfolio.Assist project team on CAPEX projects related to SCM development.Partake in Due Diligence activities regarding Cementitious acquisitions as required.Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.Drives Results: CRH Cement Plants should be at competitive levels of clinker ratio. This can only be achieved through analysis, problem solving and a result driven approach focusing on KPI's.Work collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives.Engage, inspire and develop employees; cultivates relationships and networks.Cultivates innovation: Introduce new ways of looking at problems and find the best creative solutions for process improvements and actively move them into implementation.Job RequirementsUniversity degree (Bachelor/Master) in engineering (mining, process, mechanical, chemistry).Candidate must have minimum 15 years experience in cement manufacturing and excellent understanding of cement operation & product.Solid background in Product Development.Excellent understanding of CRH downstream business & key actors.Have strong experience in cement plant operation.Experience with quality control & grinding process techniques is essential.Candidate must be able to work on own initiative with strong attention to detail.Strong management and excellent communication skills are pre-requisite.Very good understanding of clinker chemistry and mineralogy.Very high level of knowledge and willingness to support core leadership.Good overview of the vendor business world in Production/Process area.Strong organizational skills and self-management.Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational focus.Energetic, forward-thinking and creative person with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally.Ability to take decision in complex and international environments.Know-how and application of modern media and information technology.Willingness to travel abroad.Must be able to work independently and with groups.
