The RoleFL105 seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer. The successful candidate will develop and apply machine learning (ML) to create foundational psychological tools. This position is ideal for someone with broad expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and computational sciences who is looking to join a very dynamic and innovative environment and pioneer the next frontier of innovation, application, and human-computer interactions enabled by generative models. You will build technologies that enable others to maximize their potential.Working at FL105, you will be able to openly collaborate with Pioneering Intelligence, the AI/ML research arm of Flagship Pioneering. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class machine learning scientists and engineers who work on cutting-edge AI research in generative modeling and large language models.Key Responsibilities:Develop advanced ML tools that capture and recapitulate psychological phenomena.Develop and prototype LLM-based multi-agent systems with coordinated behavior.Develop an optimized data pipeline to facilitate development, scalability, and integration with a user-facing product.Experiment with techniques to augment the performance of the platform.Collaborate closely with other members of the team to enhance platform KPIs.Collaborate closely with software developers to integrate platform with user-facing product.Communicate findings to a multi-disciplinary audience.Qualifications:Master’s degree in any computational field (e.g., machine learning, computer science, applied math, neuroscience, computational biology, physics, etc.)3+ years industry experienceUnderstanding of data structures and software architectures, as well as experience with MLOps best practices, version control, and project managementFluency in Python and standard ML tools and libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax, sklearn)Motivated and team oriented, with an ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environmentExcellent communication and presentation skillsMust be able to think independently and work collaborativelyPreferred experience:Post-PhD/MSc work experience is an advantage but not a requirement.Familiarity with common software development tools and best practices: Git, cloud/cluster computing, UNIX environments, shell scripting.About Flagship:Flagship Pioneering is a bioplatform innovation company that invents and builds platform companies, each with the potential for multiple products that transform human health or sustainability.
