Job SummaryThe Scrum Master is accountable for the adoption of Scrum methodology throughout SHI’s Information Technology department. The Scrum Master will be responsible for coordinating the work of project teams to produce and enhance applications and services. The Scrum Master will also work collaboratively with the Agile Coach in guiding software development in a new way.
This position will be responsible for multiple Scrum teams, helping them mature their practices and identify and resolve impediments delaying progress or distracting them from achieving optimal performance. The Scrum Master is the bridge between development, product owners, and stakeholders.
This position is required to report to the SHI Somerset NJ or Austin, TX office location as determined by SHI management.

ResponsibilitiesInclude, but are not limited to:
Serve as theScrum team coach by identifying needs and implementing methods to strengthen the team’s understanding of Scrum concepts and principles
Ensure the team understands and appropriately applies Agile values and principles
Ensure the team effectively achieves Sprint goals
Organize and facilitate valuable Scrum events
Create an environment of relentless, continuous improvement and applied learnings
Assist Product Owner with maintaining the product backlog while managing trade-offs between short-term and long-term benefits of the solution, product, and business value
Coach and mentor development teams to be self-organized and effective
Proactively manage dependencies across teams and processes
Assist the team with Sprint commitments, risk management, and impediment resolution
Track and communicate the team’s progress regarding Capacity, Velocity, Sprint, and Release
Accountable for improving the team’s quality and outcomes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field – or equivalent work experience
4+ years’ IT or related business experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Scrum environment
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban) and Agile toolsets (Atlassian, Azure)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Scrum Master working with 2 or more software development teams
Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Proficiency in MS office tools – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Required Skills
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to effectively communicate with people in varying job roles including developers, analysts, product owners, application users, and company leadership
Strong follow-up skills and experience holding project teams accountable to quality
Strong understanding of the dynamics of cross-functional teams with the ability to creatively problem solve
Strong time management and organization skills
Ability to effectively facilitate trainings and workshops
Ability to understand and articulate strategic and product goals and the team’s progress towards them
Ability to communicate strategic, product, and sprint objectives and their respective alignment, with minimal supervision
Willingness to challenge the team
Certifications RequiredRequired Certification:
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I)
Preferred Certifications:
Advance Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM II)
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Additional Information
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $65,000 - $110,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
