Senior Software Engineer - Endpoint Security

The Team:Security is a constantly evolving landscape with new threats and attack vectors changing how we both respond and prevent. To keep up with new threats we need to have continuous transparency into a wide variety of information from an endpoint. Coupled with the ability to quickly deploy changes to capture more information in the event of an incident and transform it into actionable data for the CSOC to respond to.

The Endpoint Security team is dedicated to protecting Bloomberg's fleet of servers and user devices from both external and internal security threats. This is achieved by implementing and maintaining tools that provide the front line security teams (CSOC) the ability to monitor and react to those threats. This includes deploying Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) agents across the Bloomberg Estate consisting of Windows, Linux, macOS, cloud, and appliances. The agents are responsible for querying, detecting, and reacting to security threats. The team also builds and maintains the agents control plane and data collection infrastructure.

We'll trust you toDesign and implement solutions that add transparency into our Bloomberg Infrastructure.Constantly improve reliability, scalability, observability, and availability of the system.Advise and complete the design, architecture, and implementation of new software solutions.Collaborate with the engineering and product operations teams to find practical solutions to their problems.Learn and grow while enjoying what you are building.Mentor junior engineers.

You'll need to have:4+ years programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript).A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field of study or equivalent work experience.Experience with deployment, configuration, or maintenance of supporting enterprise endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, such as Carbon Black EDR, CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne, FireEye HX, McAfee MVision, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Tanium, or Elastic Endpoint Protection as either deployment or day-to-day operations, and maintenance of the solution.Experience performing systems administration, including troubleshooting and installation, monitoring system performance or availability, performing security upgrades, and optimizing solution configurations to meet the needs of operational users.A strong understanding of Unix Operating Systems (Windows or macOS would be a plus).

We'd love to see:Experience with optimization of EDR solutions, including refinement of the data produced, development of automated workflows or playbooks, and integration of the EDR data with enterprise solutions.Experience with maintaining EDR solutions for an Enterprise with a wide mix of endpoints ranging from laptops to servers and everything in between.Experience with commonly used technologies such as MySQL, HaProxy, Chef, or Ansible.Contribution to open source projects.

Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + BonusThe referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting.
