Remote – This is a home-based, virtual position that operates within the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm on US Eastern Standard time (EST). Vaya Health welcomes applications from NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, and FL.GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOBThe Senior Data Analyst, Healthcare Analytics manages fiscal centric data analytics related to capitation, cost drivers and decision support of the organization catchment area. Interprets/analyzes data and develops ad hoc reports from a variety of data sources. The Senior Analyst will act as lead on multiple projects and provide technical leadership for the Healthcare Analytics team. This role requires high technical proficiency and deep understanding of Medical cost analytics including financial forecasting, cost drivers and claims structure. The Senior Data Analyst works independently and collaboratively while utilizing advanced technical skills to review service utilization, per member per month and unit cost trends for various Medicaid lines of business.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDevelop advanced queries to obtain data that is appropriate to the purpose with minimal oversight.Oversee the development and management of financial models related to premium, cost of care, and PMPM.Lead the Healthcare Analytics team in providing data driven advanced analytics to Finance, Claims, Clinical, Network and other departments to enable critical decision making.Act as a lead on abstract analytical projects to research and explain utilization and unit cost medical cost drivers across the organization.Develop best practices and presentations to facilitate/lead discussions with business units and present analysis and key findings to varying levels of the organization using data storytelling methodologies.Complete complex formal presentations to inform and engage business leaders on estimated unit cost changes and initiatives to help ensure they achieve applicable targets.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIESExperience managing data analysis projects from beginning to end including but not limited to leading analysts in requirement gathering, data cleansing, analysis, report development, presentation development, and presenting results to various levels of the organization.Advanced analytical/problem-solving skills and communication skills both orally and written are required.Ability to lead and manage projects and expectations across assignments and collaborators.Ability to analyze business needs, make proactive recommendations to improve existing metrics and identify where Healthcare Analytics may create opportunities for improvement.Ability to understand operational business processes and interact directly with internal business units to provide sound analysis and tools for decision making.Advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to informally lead team members, teach peers and drive a collaborative environment.Desire for constant growth and an innate curiosity.Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment running multiple projects simultaneously.Integrity and decision-making skills necessary to work with and protect confidential personal health information.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Microsoft SQL Server, including experience with SQL Query writing, and Power Query in Excel, preferred.High level of competence with Microsoft Excel including Power Query, formula writing, and dashboard/report design.QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Analytics/BI, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline required. Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare, Data Science, or Public Administration preferred. Must have:The required Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in the development of healthcare data analysis or research.ORThe preferred Master’s degree and 2 years of experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSClose visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers.Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time.Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
