Cloud Engineer

to become part of Peraton's Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes.Location:

Rosslyn, VA . Hybrid role, must be local to be able to be on site as needed.What you’ll do:Monitoring Cloud Infrastructure:

Check the health and performance of cloud resources (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).Review logs and metrics to identify any anomalies or security incidents.Utilize Azure Monitor or equivalent tools for alerts and remediation.

Managing CI/CD Pipelines:

Update and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.Collaborate with development teams to integrate new features into the pipeline.Conduct code reviews for pull requests to ensure coding standards and practices are followed.

Automating Routine Tasks:

Write and test scripts in PowerShell and Bash to automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) to create or modify infrastructure configurations.Document automation processes and update scripts as necessary.

Implementing Security Best Practices:

Conduct regular audits of roles and access policies using RBAC and Active Directory.Ensure compliance with security policies and practices, including reviewing firewall rules and identity management processes.Stay updated on best practices for cloud security and implement changes as needed.

Collaborating on System Integration:

Work with teams to integrate new systems or features into existing cloud architectures.Assist in troubleshooting integration issues and support system configuration.Gain feedback from users on system functionality and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.Either possess or be able to obtain/maintain, prior to start date,

of the following certifications:

CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), CSSLP, Security+ CE, Project+, Agile Scrummaster

Identity Management: Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management principles, including RBAC and Active Directory.Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, storage solutions, and related technologies (PKI, LDAP).System Integration: Experience integrating IT systems into customer networks.Development Tools: Familiarity with IDEs (e.g., VSCode) and version control using Git (including forks, branches, and pull requests).DevOps Practices: Basic understanding of DevOps and CI/CD processes.Scripting Proficiency: Must have working knowledge of PowerShell and Bash for automation tasks.Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform or Bicep.File Formats: Understanding of JSON and YAML data formats.Learning Orientation: Strong eagerness and ability to learn new technologies and practices.U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a final Top Secret clearance.Preferred:Certifications: Knowledge of Azure Fundamentals - Azure Administrator level is preferable (AZ-104 exam); AWS Fundamentals knowledge is advantageous.Preferable experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jenkins.Experience with CloudFormation or ARM templates is a plus.Target Salary Range:

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
