GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a passion for building high performance, low-latency platforms and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we redefine experiences for our customers.Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, you will:Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systemsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationDefine, create and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveUtilize programming languages like .NET, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsQualifications
Advanced programming experience within Wiki (Atlassian), CI/CD Pipeline, Azure Just-in-Time, VM Access, Azure Cloud Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure Automation AccountsExperience with design and development of ALM featuresDevelopment and Management EAPExperience architecting and designing new and current systemsAdvanced understanding of DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps framework and toolsAdvanced PowerShell scripting skillsAdvanced understanding of monitoring concepts and toolingAdvanced understanding of security protocols and productsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeIn-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsStrong problem-solving abilityAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary: $72,000.00 - $185,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
