As an RF Applications Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in interfacing with various internal teams including product development, technology development, marketing, and product line managers. Externally, you will engage directly with our customers and the global field applications engineering (FAE) team. Our commitment to innovation, new technology, and talent growth ensures our sustainable success.Responsibilities:Design and develop Doherty amplifiers using state-of-the-art GaN transistors.Optimize existing designs to meet stringent customer performance targets.Characterize power amplifiers for 5G applications using digital predistortion (DPD).Maintain a working knowledge of the latest communications standards as they relate to power amplifier measurements.Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, and procedures.Mentor junior engineers and provide training on new technologies and methodologies.Demonstrate a high level of personal energy and drive to succeed in a dynamic environment.Provide technical leadership and support to customers through technical reports, conference calls, and face-to-face meetings.Provide feedback to the wider organization to improve technology and product development activities.Work with the cross-functional teams with team members from multiple design centers and organizations to define and create an executable project plan.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Skills:A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience with at least 2 years working with RF semiconductor products.Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on RF power amplifiers and minimum 2 years’ experience.Proficiency with RF and microwave test equipment and strong knowledge of power amplifier design.Demonstrated ability to work within schedule constraints and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience with technical customer communications.Experience with AWR or ADS non-linear circuit simulators.Experience with Doherty amplifier design.Proven track record of innovation and problem-solving in RF engineering.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.Why Us?Innovation: Be part of a team that is at the forefront of technological advancements in RF engineering.Growth: Opportunities for professional growth and development.Impact: Contribute to cutting-edge projects that shape the future of communications technology.Culture: Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment that values creativity and initiative.EEO:MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
