Responsibilities:Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The ideal candidate will support multiple Flights and will be on-site at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The candidate will collaborate with military personnel and other contractors when designing and executing Modeling and Simulation scenarios. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the

Design of Experiments

and implementing the scenario(s) within DoD approved frameworks and an array of programming languages.Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Plan, oversee, and foster a portfolio of projects supporting Modeling and Simulation - with an emphasis on AI/ML-related experimentationCollaborate and work across internal and external teams to develop concepts that advance the entire projectCommunicate highly technical problems and solutions at all levels, from engineers to C-level-equivalent leadersExplore and understand AI/ML developments and emerging AI-related technologies to understand how the project should adapt and grow over timeWork with researchers and external partners to develop and pursue a vision to ensure AI/ML is mission-reliable, accurate, and robustBuild, lead, inspire, and enable a diverse research team to carry out foundational, often novel, researchWork as a trusted, strategic partner with the customer by delivering actionable insights about emerging AI/ML-related technologies as well as with technically minded external partnersAbility to turn qualitative insights into technical research effortsQualifications:Education and Experience:

BS degree (MS – highly desired) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or Operation Research8+ years of programming experience in Object Orientated Programming, Python, and/or C++Required Qualification:

An active TS/SCI ClearanceHighly Desired Qualifications:

Experience with air asset maneuvers, limitations, and capabilitiesStrong experience in Operations Research or Systems AnalysisProfessional or academic experience with the Design of Experiments (DOE) disciplineStrong in verbal and written communicationsCreating and briefing Government personnel on the results from scenarios and/or experimentsExperience with the Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA) tool and selecting the appropriate Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) classifierAlgorithm design and implementation within MATLAB, Python, Java, or C/C++Experience with Python software development and creating virtual development environmentsAnacondaExecuting
