We need smart people like you to join us in solving hard problems that matter.What You’ll Get to Do:Develop code to enable multiple hardware devices to cooperatively work together
Design, develop, modify and deploy Linux kernel drivers for a variety of novel hardware devices
Collaborate with hardware team to design hardware/software interfaces
Bring up Linux on new hardware
Modify key kernel subsystems to facilitate novel hardware capabilities
Participate in all aspects of the product design life cycle including system architecture, design, development, and verification
Document design and results
Work individually and with a team to complete tasks
Contribute to the technical direction of this program and adjacent programs
Whiteboard novel concepts and participate in innovative brainstorming sessions
Required Qualifications & ExperienceUS Citizenship
Ability to get a security clearance
Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
Ability to clearly capture complex technical concepts in writing for both technical and general audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
More than 3 years of relevant professional experience
In-depth understanding of drivers, interrupt handling routines, and kernel subsystems
Preferred Qualifications & ExperienceActive US Security Clearance
Experience applying principles of cyber security to operational technology and embedded systems
Experience reverse engineering hardware and software to understand what needs to be modified and how to achieve our intended functionality
Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages including C and other languages such as Python
Experience designing software systems running on multiple platforms and processors
Software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
LocationThe work location is at Idaho Scientific headquarters in Boise, Idaho (interaction with physical hardware is required)If relocation is the only reason a candidate wouldn’t consider the position, we’re willing to consider alternative work location arrangements as long as the candidate has reliable access to secure facilities.
