JOB SUMMARY:
The janitor performs a variety of janitorial, custodial and/or maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
MAJOR TASKS :The Janitor sweeps, vacuums and mops floors and stairs.The Janitor cleans and sanitize bathrooms daily.The Janitor cleans sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.The Janitor restocks supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.The Janitor empties all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.The Janitor dusts such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets and desks that are not cluttered.The Janitor cleans windowsills and windows.The Janitor maintains janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.The Janitor maintains janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.The Janitor provides proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.The Janitor purchases cleaning supplies as necessary.The Janitor replaces light bulbs and fuses.The Janitor assists the Maintenance Manager of general maintenance of grounds including removal of snow from sidewalks and salting of walkways.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS;
High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.Six months or more of related experience.Valid Missouri driver's license.General handyman skills preferred. Ex: moving boxes, furniture, hanging pictures, cleaning gutters, washing windows etc....OTHER REQUIRED CAPABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to plan and organize work assignments.May be required to travel in or out of community with own vehicle.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel)Strong attention to detail.Must be a problem-solver, with the ability to think and problem solve on your feet.Must be able to lift 50 lbs., reach overhead, walk on roofs, drive a vehicle, climb a two-story ladder, and climb through 24" square opening to attics or crawl spaces.Must be able to remain on your feet for several hours.
