Lifeguard
Salary : $11.50 - $15.50 per hour
Lifeguard
Hours : All shifts available, opening shifts available for the early bird! (Part Time)
Lifeguard
Responsibilities :
Maintains active surveillance of the pool areaKnows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Accurately completes related reports as requiredAble to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendorsMaintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staffKnows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area including the sauna, whirlpool, and steam roomMaintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department codePerforms equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics DirectorChecks the pool for hazardous conditions when arrivingPerforms chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate actionAttends all staff meetings and in-service trainingPerforms other duties as assignedLifeguard
Qualifications :
Minimum age of fifteen (15)Lifeguard CertificationCPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalentAbility to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shiftMust demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standardsAdditional training requirementsFamiliarity with personal computers helpfulDiligence in responding to safety and emergency situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team playerMust possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitudeBi-lingual (Spanish) helpfulLifeguard
