Division Overview:
Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Position overview:
The Electrician works closely with the Plant Electrical Engineer and performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers for the use in the manufacture of aluminum cans.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis) and propose and implement remedies.
Ability to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates
Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
This position may also require climbing or balancing.
Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
Preferred Requirements
AS Electrical Engineering preferred, but not required.
Journeyman license preferred but not required
Minimum 3+ year’s industrial electrical/programming experience or two-year technical degree strongly preferred.
Competencies
Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
Highly motivated, self-directed, worker that can work autonomously in a fast paced and often loud production environment.
Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lockout / tagout, low voltage electrical to 480V AC).
PLC programming required; Multiple platforms such as Allen Bradley PLC5, Control Logix, HMI, and Servo Drive programming and troubleshooting experience preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis) and propose and implement remedies.
Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
Experience in computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches, etc.) preferred.
Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred.
Ability to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates
Ability to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively
Ability to manage time and work independently or with other team members
Ability to assume additional job duties and responsibilities as assigned
Must have working knowledge of current electrical codes
Knowledge of all electrical systems and components
Knowledge of National Electric Code
480 V MCC troubleshooting
Ability to perform calibrations, installation and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
Ability to troubleshoot and re-wire high speed and/or highly automated equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Medium voltage load centers and metal clad operation and troubleshooting up to 38 KV
Understanding and use of current NFPA electrical codes
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
The noise level is frequently loud
