Position Summary

Orlando Health

is seeking an

Investment Analyst , who will support the corporate venture funds across Orlando Health including the Orlando Health Ventures investment fund, the Orlando Health Seed Fund, and the Sparkplug Fund. This role involves evaluating potential investments, conducting due diligence, and owning administrative duties of the funds. The Analyst will work closely with team members to identify innovative healthcare technologies and services that align with the health system's strategic goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the intersection of healthcare and venture capital, contributing to the growth and development of cutting-edge solutions in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Due diligence in support of potential investments - including market landscape analysis and recent transactions.Develop materials for presentation to Investment Committee - including investment memos and portfolio updates.Communicate with potential investments as well as internal OH stakeholders to gather materials for investment memos.Schedule

Essential Functions

Venture Fund

Investment Analysis & Due Diligence

Support due diligence process on prospective fund investments - organizing calls with start-up company management, reviewing materials in online data rooms and synthesize information into reports and presentations.Create presentations for Investment Committee for Orlando Health Ventures, reporting on portfolio companies and new investment opportunities.Add to dealflow pipeline online platform and support diligence activities. Report to MD, Principal, and Associate in weekly investment staff meetings.Prepare drafts of investment memos and presentations for internal review and approval.Portfolio Management

Track performance metrics and providing updates to fund leadership.Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company management teams.Deal Sourcing & Networking

Identify strategic insights across healthcare industries, researching innovative technologies, and helping to shape the organization's adoption of new technology, processes, and methodologies.Prepare valuation analysis in MS Excel using discounted cash flow and comparable exits for prospective investments.Perform analysis of portfolio company performance including quarterly financials and regulatory milestone achievement.Seed Fund

Investment Analysis, Due Diligence, & Fund Admin

Organize materials and support consistent meetings for the Orlando Health Seed Fund.Create presentations for Investment Committee for Orlando Health Seed Fund, reporting on portfolio companies and new investment opportunities.Synthesize due diligence materials including OH physician feedback, market data, transaction sets and financial analysis for presentations.Track portfolio company performance for reporting to Investment Committee.Healthy St. Pete Sparkplug Fund

Investment Analysis, Due Diligence, & Fund Admin

Interact on a regular basis with the Foundation for Healthy St. Pete leadership as well as community leaders in the Tampa/St. Pete market area.Support investment efforts for the Sparkplug Fund including deal sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring/reporting.Create materials for discussion, reporting and communication.Identify investment trends that fit with the Foundation for Healthy St. Pete's organizational and community objectives.Other Related Functions

Operational Support

Assist in the development and implementation of internal processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Participate in team meetings, providing updates on ongoing projects and potential investment opportunities.Work under the direction of senior staff and management and will sometimes be required to work with limited direction and supervision.Communicate effectively, including verbal and written communications, and interact, directly and indirectly, with senior leaders across the healthcare system.Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.Educational Initiatives

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in venture capital and healthcare.Share knowledge and insights with the team through presentations and informal discussions.Other

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.Participates in cross-functional teams and operates within different levels of the organization.Requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing projects and stakeholder demands.Possesses expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree Business, Finance, Healthcare Management, or scientific/medical studies required.Master's degree in business, economics, or similar - Preferred.Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis. Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, including trends, policy, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.Licensure/Certification

Experience

Two (2) years of experience working in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or similar areas in a healthcare related role.Experience working with startups and early-stage companies is highly desirable.Excellent analytical, project management, critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building, presentation and communication skills.Experience in working extensively in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
