WHAT DOES A SYSTEM ADMINISTOR DO?

Augment a well-established team as a System Administrator. This is a collaborative team environment that entails frequent interaction with customers. This is a fast-paced team so a willingness to take on challenges to creatively solve customer requirement problems will be required. The successful candidate for System Administrator will be self-motivated and will support new development work as well as sustainment activities.

WOULD YOU BE A GREAT SYSTEM ADMINISTOR?

The System Administrator will install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system while monitoring networks to ensure network availability to all system users. The System Administrator will perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

The System Administrator will assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software and provide technical assistance to computer users. The System Administrator will be required to answer any questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software. The System Administrator will need to have experience in printing, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Furthermore, as a System Administrator you will be required to analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as LAN, WAN, and Internet systems or a segment of a network system and perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.

Senior level System Administrator may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Requirements

Active Top Secret clearance at time of application for Senior considerationActive Secret clearance at time of application for Journeyman considerationBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science Information Technology or Engineering or related disciplineJourneyman at least five (5) years of experience

in system administration, performing thefunctional duties for this position.Senior at least ten (10) years of experience

in system administration, performing the functional duties for this position.Degree is REQUIRED, neither an associate degree

nor

additional years of experience can be substituted for the degree.

Provide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.Deploy and maintain software applications.Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security reporting.Participate in project planning using Agile methodology and Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.Strong understanding and familiarity of Linux operating systemTech Stack and Certifications
