Title Examiner
responsible for the specific duties listed below.Your specific duties will include:
Performs searches of real propertyExamines records such as deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, and plat and map books to determine ownership, encumbrances and verifies legal description of property. Contacts the Escrow Officer or customer concerning any discrepanciesAnalyzes chain of title and prepares preliminary reports outlining matters affecting title and actions required to clear titleReviews collateral documents such as trusts and powers of attorney, and court documents as necessaryUpload all necessary search and support documents to title software applicationPerforms date downs or updates as requestedClear statements of identity sent from branch officesSpecific qualifications for the position include :
Superior reading skills with the ability to interpret documents and procedure manualsAbility to be proactive to problem solving and consult with title staff to resolve discrepanciesKnowledge of title insurance products - basic understanding of the coverage afforded by different products, and can identify extra hazardous risks and refers same to designated managementExtensive knowledge of subdivision descriptions, and sectional split lots, metes and bounds descriptions, and searching processMaintain filing system for recording conformation and feesKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteCompensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
