Your role

•provide key oversight and management of the third-party accounting team at CBRE for Realty and Farmland funds and separate accounts whose primary functions include, but are not limited to, the review and approval of accounting deliverables, management of independent audits, facilitating between internal functions and CBRE, and fund level expense processing;•engage on an ad hoc basis for fund launches, financing transactions and technical accounting discussions and standards adoption;•supervise and oversight of Apex who will be performing investor accounting for Realty and Farmland funds and a front-end system called Participate which provides access to client data for both servicing and management reporting including overall responsibility for managing the relationship and contract negotiations for changes and enhancements. The primary function of this role is to ensure that operational standards delivered by Apex are maintained in accordance with UBS requirements and that all operational, financial, tax and regulatory requirements for the funds are met. The role will be the interface with Apex to design and deliver changes to reports, fee calculations and processes and ensure consistency of approach across funds when setting up new products / clients as required on an ad-hoc basis.•execute strategic projects that leverage CBRE and Apex's expertise and advance technology platforms to enhance automation of our reporting processes.•fund level expense processing (audit, tax, legal, etc.) to include defining payables workflow based on delegation of authority, maintaining signatory lists and approval, wire approvals (call-back process).•act as facilitator between internal functions and third-party service providers.•participate in client due diligence meetings.•fund Accounting and Investor Reporting to include approval of reporting (production) calendars, provide fund level expense accruals (audit, tax, legal, etc.), approval of initial waterfall calculation set ups, facilitate and provide third-party service provider with quarterly valuations (Real Estate, Farmland, Debt, Derivatives, etc.), review and approval of NAV, financial statements, and investor reporting (client statements).•annual fund audit to include negotiate and engage audit firm, approval of audit timeline, review and approval on draft and final audited financial report, sign management representation letter, coordinate legal and going concern analysis, and be involved in technical accounting discussion for issues that arise during the audit which the audit firm or third-party service provider brings to the our attention.•property/Investment oversight to maintain responsibility of Policies & Procedures manual, coordinate with the Transactions team to provide executed transaction documentation (acquisitions, dispositions, financing), coordinate with Asset Management to facilitate introductions between Property Management Company (PMC) and CBRE, and coordinate with Investment teams (Portfolio, Transactions, and Asset Management) to identify and maintain best practices.•performance analytics to include review and approve performance calculation provided by CBRE for submission to NCREIF and MSCI and coordinate with the internal GIPS reporting team and coordinate the annual GIPS audit.

You will report to the Head of Operations for Real Estate - US, the Business Management team and the CBRE Accounting Team.
Your expertise
•knowledgeable about US GAAP and internal control framework with respect to Investment Funds;•knowledgeable about Private Real Estate Investment Funds (open-end, closed-end, and separate accounts) and their respective reporting requirements;•understanding of the financial markets in which our products operate and financial instruments;•knowledgeable about Fund valuations, control processes and dependencies on all stakeholders;•knowledgeable about governance structures and required regulatory oversight, implicit in the regulatory environment;•able to analyze large amounts of data across systems to identify and remedy control issues;•familiar with and active involvement in NCREIF with a clear understanding of PREA reporting standards;•experienced in Yardi; and CPA certified, although not required
