Summary

Responsible for the overall oversight, development and servicing of Northern Trust's FX Local Markets, including emerging and restricted onshore markets; market & product development; sub custodian oversight and client servicing.

The role will cover the full breadth of Northern Trust's FX products, including Direct Dealing, CustodyFX, CompleteFX and Trading and be a key contributor to the ongoing development, expansion and servicing of Northern's Local Market FX capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

Overall responsibility for Northern Trust's local markets covering direct dealing; CustodyFX and delegated FX solutions across APAC, EMEA and LATAM marketsDrive the ongoing expansion and product development in emerging and restricted markets including additional liquidity providers, 3rd party capabilities, reporting and analyticsStrong collaboration with the Global and Regional Chief Dealers and Global Head of FX Sales & Service to ensure trading and client service requirements are metManage internal and external client inquiries relating to emerging markets on a day to day basisOversee and engage with Northern trust's sub custodian and network management teamsCollaborate with sales, business development and client solutions teams to develop and deliver client pitches; RFI / RFP and other new business activities pertaining to local marketsMaintain and enhance detailed local market guides to each market for internal and external use that clearly define NT's service offering and market specific considerations.Contribute to the development and refinement of overall GFX strategy, working with FX business heads of Trading, Sales & Service and Transactional FXParticipates in the capital planning process by defining incremental projects to enhance l FX capabilities and overseeing them through the agile IT development process through to implementation.Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise.The ideal candidate will benefit from having the following skills:

Strong understanding of FX markets, ideally with a focus in local / emerging markets or product development5 or more years relevant foreign exchange experience, with knowledge of foreign exchange markets and operationsExperience managing client and internal relationships together with client servicingExcellent oral and written communication skills are requiredHighly flexible and adaptable to change, with ability to work in a global, dynamic teamStrong leadership and decision making skillsTechnical FX skills / systems knowledge
