Dates TBD based on Production Schedule for - times are flexible (Monday-Friday, 8am-10pm - based on stage availability and Saturdays, times vary) Must be available for all technical rehearsals and performances
The Sound Designer/Engineer interacts with and responds to students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members in ways that demonstrates their alignment and agreement with the district's equity commitments as expressed in Board Policy 7:12: Ensuring Racial and Educational Equity.
Essential Skills and Responsibilities:Read the script and score several times to understand the needs for the show and each character.Meet with Director to discuss sound, sfx and needs for productionDesign sound, program sfx and any sound needs for productionTest all mics, cables and headsets prior to first dress tech for any concerns, issues, breakage and request replacements as neededResponsible for overseeing and getting mics ready before each tech rehearsal, show and put away after each rehearsal and showArrive 30 minutes prior to dress tech's to assist with batteries, cables, tape and organizationArrive 110 minutes prior to start of shows to prepare mics, replace batteries, check cables and headsets and put on studentsAssist with putting microphones on all cast members wnd train Stagecrew to assistAssist Stage Manager with any troubleshooting with mic or sound issuesPerform mic check before all tech rehearsals and showsOperate/Engineer sound during each tech rehearsal and all performancesTrain music coordinator student assigned to playing the show tracksStrike includes returning sound board back to general sound plot and all microphones cleaned/put away - mic room/closet cleaned and organized - any issues or repairs communicated with Bravo OfficeLead with patience and professionalism at all timesLeave time daily to clean and organize work areas - safety and cleanliness are priorities
Candidate Qualifications:
Sound Designer/Engineer should have experience mixing up to 24 wireless microphonesExperience on an Allen & Heath sound boardAble to troubleshoot any and all sound issues that arise during technical rehearsals and performances
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the performance of light work-which may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere.
