POSITION SUMMARYThe Dining Services Director helps create joyful & vibrant communities by managing and developing the dining department and overseeing the implementation of an excellent dining experience for residents, families, and guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSBegins each day with the goal of inspiring joyful and vibrant communities. Looks for creative ways of recognizing staff and elevating our Mission & Values.Supervises dining staff in the daily operations of the department, monitoring job assignments and quality of food preparations.Oversees and manages the dining staff.Manages and executes dining budgets for per direction of the Executive Director.Menu planning.Supervises the staff in the daily operation of the department, monitoring job assignments and quality of food preparations.Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff and provides orientation to new staff members and ongoing coaching to current staff.Prepares and submits food and supply orders, audits supply stock, and ensures that the department has sufficient food supply and working equipment at all times.Prepares meals as needed.Communicates company policies and health department standards to all staff holding staff accountable for preparing, serving, and storing food in accordance to all standards and policies.Evaluates staff performance and provides feedback, coaching and performance plans as needed.Inspects the food service areas and equipment ensuring they are clean, safe, and orderly, meeting community fire safety, infection control and hazardous chemicals regulations and policies. Takes prompt action to address any unsafe condition or equipment problems.Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on all system assigned tasks and duties.Attends and participates in new hire & in-service training.Performs other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High school diploma or equivalent.Prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred.Prior supervisory experience preferred.Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Certified Dietary Manager Certification preferred.Maintains current Food Handler's card.Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.Requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.Maintains CPR and/or First Aid Certification as required by State regulation.Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee managementAbility to work independently (with minimum supervision)WHAT WE OFFER

Actual pay rate will be calculated based on relevant years of experience and education/certification requirements.
