RESPONSIBILITIESFunction as the subject matter expert in SQL development, data processing, data pipelines, and data engineering on the Data Science TeamAssist the internal ACES Data Scientists with their data needs, as well as design and create new metrics to understand data health, data catalogs, and data documentationCoordinate with product owners when new business requirements arise, which includes defining business requirements, being involved in the design and development of the business process, and testing solutions for correctnessRoutinely review data for accuracyPerform ad-hoc requests for retrieving and summarizing dataContinually monitor and refine data pipeline and business processes to meet the goals to improve/enhance performance reporting processDirect interaction and presentations, both written and verbal, to front office, members, and customers, as neededTravel, as requiredWill adhere to all ACES corporate policies and comply with all ACES regulatory requirements, including but not limited to NERC, FERC, and relevant state regulations, as applicable to this position.Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics or equivalent career knowledgeProgramming experience in R, Python, and/or SQL preferred2+ years of data analysis, SQL development, Data Engineering, or equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of ETL, Business Intelligence, and Functional Programming preferredWorking knowledge of risk measurements, KPIs, with the ability to design and improve business processesExperience with programmatic notebooks such as Jupyter, Quarto, or RMarkdownFamiliarity with data practices including database and data engineering structure ETL, ELT, SQL, APIs, and various data frame architecturesExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentA proactive individual with the ability to identify, prioritize and solve multiple problems in a timely and effective mannerAbility to understand, assimilate, and communicate information effectively in both an oral and written mannerAbility to interface and manage requests and projects involving various ACES departments & Data Scientists needs
