SQL Server Administrator
***Must be US citizen or Green Card Holder.
Location: TX - Plano, 75075 (ONSITE ONLY)
Job Role:Manage and administer SQL Server databases in various versions, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.Monitor and optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and other techniques.Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server, Always-On, Replication ensuring minimal downtime.Ensure the security and integrity of databases by implementing access controls, encryption, SSL, TDE, and data masking.Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data.Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades while minimizing disruption.Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell or similar tools to streamline database operations.Work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for data integration and reporting needs.Implement and maintain database monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively address issues.Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Significant experience with SQL Server and its migration to AWS EC2 instances and AWS RDS.Experience in evaluation an on-premise Data environment and suggest the best fit target environment on AWS.Prior cloud database migration experience with sizing and performance tuning.Understanding in creating AWS/Azure Landing Zones and Security policiesStrong understanding of core AWS/Azure services and AWS/Azure architecture best practicesHands-on experience cloud native migrations tools such as AWS/Azure Database Migration Service and AWS/Azure Schema Conversion ToolGood to have AWS/Azure, MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications.Strong experience in SQL tools such as OmniDB, DBeaver, SQL Developer and PGAdmin.Extensive experience in database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and AWS Certified Database Specialty Certifications is a must.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to the management.
