Department OverviewGlobal Logistics: Responsible for global transportation logistics, import / export trade operations, and procurement of logistics services for the MSI Supply Chain and supporting functions.Job DescriptionGlobal Logistics Consultant: Responsible for contract administration of Logistics services supporting transportation, brokerage, and logistics services. Annual spend under contract administration exceeds $100M with major services under contract including Freight Forwarding (Air, Ocean, Truck, Crossdock), Integrated Small Parcel Services, and Trucking Services (FTL, LTL, Dedicated Shuttle). Additional responsibilities include supplier cost, quality, and delivery performance to contracted terms.
In this role you will do the following:Manage Global Category processes for all modes of Transportation (Heavy Weight Air, Ocean, Trucking, and Parcel) and Logistics.Identify and deliver regional logistics sourcing across all business including acquisitions.Ensure communication and alignment of goals throughout the organization.Develop and deliver regional Strategic Roadmap of Logistics Sourcing in line with Global strategy to drive category Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), procurement excellence, and valueManage and report supplier performance scorecards quarterlyNegotiate complex contracts and rates tariffsEngage with senior leadership teams supporting our key Transportation & Logistics Suppliers to strengthen our relationshipsEstablish and lead processes to review pricing and ensure cost savingsDrive management routines to monitor outcomes as per goals establishedPropose and drive corrective actions to keep metrics that matter on trackDrive continuous improvement programs, develop and roll-out best practicesPrepare and present procurement budgetsReview variances to budget cost and saving plan.Lead and manage Quarterly business reviews with key suppliers and identify key savings opportunitiesCandidates must reside in the Chicagoland area to be considered for this position.
Basic Requirements
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Finance, Management, or Supply Chain Management6 years of experience working in a Logistics Services, Commodity, or Purchasing environment required.Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
