SUMMARY
Join Premier Aquatics as a Summer Camp Director from June 3rd to August 9th in Aliso Viejo for 10 weeks of fun and adventure! As a Camp Director, you'll plan and oversee activities while investing in the leadership growth of the team of counselors you lead. This role is perfect for energetic, creative individuals who want to make a lasting impact on campers' lives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESProgram Planning and Design : Collaborate with the team to plan and design engaging and age-appropriate activities that make each day at camp a new adventure.Supervision and Leadership : Be the guiding force for camp staff, providing leadership and support to ensure a positive and inclusive environment for campers and fellow team members.Camp Operations : Oversee day-to-day camp operations, ensuring smooth logistics, creating schedules, and the safety of all participants.Camper Engagement : Be the face of the camp! Interact with campers, fostering a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Encourage participation and create lasting connections.Staff Development : Provide guidance and mentorship to camp staff for their own development, and work with your supervisor to continue growing your own professional skills.Communication : Maintain open and clear communication with camp staff, parents, and supervisors. Keep everyone informed and engaged in the camp experience.Problem-solving : Be ready to handle unexpected situations with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. Adaptability is key in the dynamic world of summer camp.Safety and Wellness : Prioritize the well-being of campers and staff. Implement safety protocols, and ensure a healthy and secure environment for everyone.Event Coordination : Organize special events, outings, and themed days to add extra excitement to the camp experience.Documentation : Keep records of attendance, incidents, and any noteworthy occurrences. Provide feedback and reports to supervisors as needed.Fun Ambassador : Embody the spirit of fun and adventure! Bring your creativity to the forefront, creating an environment where campers can thrive and create lifelong memories.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
Must have prior recreation experience such as coaching, camps, and teambuildingMust have experience working with children of all ages.Be able to commit to the full Summer Camp season (June to mid-August M-F, with limited planning hours starting in February).Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to learn.Reliable transportation.Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours.Comfortable in and out of the water. (Swimming is a part of the Job)Obtain a StarGuard Elite BLS Certification within 30 days of your original offer date.Preferred
Previous leadership experiencePrevious experience with people with disabilities and/or special needs.
