Litigation Legal Assistant
to join our team in
San Jose
Position Overview:
This position requires a high degree of interaction with firm partners, associates and staff, as well as clients. As such, candidates should have good judgment and impeccable professionalism.
Must have the ability to work in the office!
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, and depositionsHeavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matterDocument production and organization a must. Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable formatProvide support by drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documentsPrepare files and/or binders for hearings, depositions, meetings and trialAssist with client engagement and retention, including preparation of engagement letter, conflict check, conflict waivers, and submitting information to open mattersAbility work independently and with minimal supervisionTeam player with excellent listening, verbal and communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesMust demonstrate a strong worth ethic and consistent scheduleRequirements:
Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloadsExperience with Defense casesBeing well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, including e-filing in federal courtFundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and proceduresPre-trial preparation and trial assistance experience requiredOrganized, reliable, and attentive to detailsAbility to work in the San Jose Office!
