Global Security and Field Operations Manager

Democracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a full-time

Global Security and Field Operations Manager . As a member of the Global Security and Field Operations Team, this role will be based in DI's home office in Bethesda, Maryland.

We will only consider applicants who are based in the DMV area and willing to work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

This position will provide support to DI Headquarters and DI's global field offices by managing a team responsible for providing direction and support to the Program Management Team

(PMT), Global and Rapid Response Program Team (GRRT), and global field office teams on operational best practices. They will be instrumental in implementing DI's safety and security management and field operations systems and helping design and implement process improvement to ensure the highest operational efficiency and quality standards are maintained. They will also contribute to project startup and closeout activities, including but not limited to supporting project registration, banking, and legal services, as well as facilitating trainings with global field offices.

Essential Job Duties:

Field Operations:

Oversee and optimize field operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to company standards.Collaborate with the PMT, GRRT, and field teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance.Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the Program Management Division and field operations to maintain consistency and quality.Security Management:

Assist in the development and implementation of robust security policies, procedures, and measures to safeguard company assets, personnel, and information.Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and implement proactive measures. Assist field teams with the creation and maintenance of project risk management plans.Develop and conduct security training programs for employees to raise awareness and ensure compliance.Global Security and Field Operations Team Management:

Provide clear direction and set objectives for team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Assign tasks and responsibilities; provide quality control to ensure that all team outputs meet established standards and requirements.Track and assess team performance, offering constructive feedback and support to foster continuous improvement.Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or equivalent work experience in relevant technical area preferred.8 years of work experience in operations, security, risk management, quality management, program management or process improvement field; supervisory experience required; 5 years of work experience on USG-funded international development projects.Knowledge of safety and security risk management approaches, field operation best practices, and/or project management required; certification in security management and/or quality management strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.Demonstrated ability to manage significant activities, budgets, and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.Experience living or working in developing countries preferred.Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and competing priorities.Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all staff.Ability to travel internationally 20% of the time.Reporting:
