Randolph School is seeking a Percussion Specialist, who will work with our middle and upper school percussionists. The Specialist will assist and support in a successful music program, working closely with our middle and upper school band directors.
Primary job responsibilities include:Work with each of our percussion sections (6th grade Beginning Band, 7th/8th grade Middle School Band, and 9th-12th grade Upper School Band) for an average total of 5 class periods per weekInstruct students on percussion skills and techniques for pitched and non-pitched instrumentsCompose and instruct drumline cadences for Middle and Upper School Pep BandRehearse drumline sectionals during and after school for Middle and Upper School Pep BandProvide percussion ensemble repertoire for Concert BandPrepare percussion ensembles with Beginning Band, Middle School Band, and Upper School Band for Fall and Spring performancesPrepare percussion ensembles for Spring solo and ensemble competitionAttend Fall and Spring Concerts and competitionsMaintain percussion equipment needsRepair minor percussion equipmentCollaborate with and assist band directorsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree requiredStrong percussion musicianshipPrior teaching experience with percussionistsFlexibility to occasionally work outside school hours for concerts
