Individuals employed by By the Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching.
Position Title:
Site Director (Full-Time, Exempt)
Overview of Position:
Reporting to the Vice President of K-6th Grade Programming and is a member of the E.O.S Programming Team, the Site Director is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day programming and operations of a specific By The Hand Club location through developing and managing their staff. This position requires a self-motivated and focused leader with a desire to serve youth in under-served neighborhoods.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises the Senior Manager of Administration and Student Enrollment, Team Leaders, NXT Coaches and Front Door Coordinators at their respective site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission and culture of By the Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
Participates in employee growth plans including a regular personal development plan meeting.
Creates a culture in which people are encouraged and held accountable for their spiritual growth.
Partners with the Vice President of K-6th Programming and Human Resources to ensure staffing needs are met.
Interviews potential hires and provides a structured onboarding process.
Develops and manages staff, conducts weekly meetings.
Meets overall targets for achievement with an emphasis on academic progress, attendance and retention for all students.
Promotes a climate that includes high expectations for students and staff.
Ensures staff are utilizing the Student Behavior Policy when students need redirection.
Responsible for submitting monthly expense reports and monitoring the financial statements to stay on budget.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with principals/administrators at partner schools.
Reviews, tracks and approves staff paid time off (PTO) and hours worked via ADP.
Maintains enrollment at full capacity throughout the entire year.
Attends leadership training and development opportunities.
Plans training and development for their staff.
Holds Team Leaders accountable for attendance, enrollment, programming and home/school visit metrics.
Maintains consistency among the staff’s programming practices, classroom effectiveness, and expectations for student success.
Manages site programming schedule and monitors staff compliance.
Provides support during normal programming hours to staff, deals with discipline issues as needed, and ensures facility/classrooms/team leaders are prepared.
Effectuates all safety protocols at the site. Makes certain that all Child Protection Policies, Emergency Procedures, and Disciplinary standards are being followed.
Ensures that all personnel within the site exemplify the cultural values of By The Hand.
Communicates with the Director of Facilities for building repairs, housekeeping and safety needs or concerns.
Works to ensure all volunteers feel welcome and are utilized fully.
Oversees community partnerships and attends neighborhood meetings.
The metrics aimed for by the person in this position are for 100% of students are able to share their faith with others, 100% complete reading software programs, 80% or better attendance, 80% or better retention, 80% or better home and school visits every 3 months, 75% are passing all of their classes at school (preferably making ABCs).
Works with staff and leadership to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further the BTH religious purpose and religious freedom.
Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, i.e., education, ministry, social work, psychology, counseling, or business.
Five plus years of professional work experience.
Three plus years of experience managing others.
Spiritual maturity and the ability to disciple others.
Experience working with youth and/or families in an urban context is preferred.
Experience using Google Suite products, Google Drive and communication apps.
Personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God and displays a commitment to regular fellowship with other members in a Bible believing church.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopies and filing cabinets.
This job is not a virtual job, but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment between rooms and/or locations and lift up to 50 pounds. Periodically has to travel to other organizational sites for meetings and training.
