GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The position is primarily responsible for serving as the liaison between the patient, the employer, and the practice to provide support and coordination of benefits for all Worker Compensation encounters.
Schedule Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Serve as the initial contact with employer when an appointment is made for a new patient under a Worker's Compensation encounter.Interview new Worker's Compensation patient to address additional information, patient concerns/questions or physicians inquires.Must work closely with the billing department to assure that all WC patient information is accurate resulting in a clean claim; to include correction of insurance sets and charges.Obtain all verification of injury, availability of modified work and insurance information. Document insurance set into GE Centricity system to provide billing department and physician with required information.Directly interface with various staff to support the total coordination of care at the practice.Obtain all Worker's Compensation patient authorizations and pre-certifications (Ex. MRI's, surgeries and all outside procedures), within 2 weeks of our sending medicals.Review all Worker's Compensation notes and determine if patient's chart should be pulled to ensure record accuracy for HIPAA requirements, and that the information released to support only the approved work related injury (body part).Perform other related duties that may be inclusive, but not listed in the job description.Intake and Completion of all Disability and FMLA paperworkQualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience in private practice required (3+ years highly desirable)experience with workers compensations preferredKnowledge of patient scheduling proceduresFamiliarity with medical terminologyAbility to adapt well to changes, as we attempt to use new technology.High school graduate or equivalentPleasant personality and patience is a MUSTOutstanding listening skills and the ability empathize with othersHigh degree of composure and interpersonal skillsDevoted to teamwork and portraying the company in a very positive mannerMaintain proper, courteous, and helpful telephone etiquetteOrganized, accountable, self-motivated, and attentive to detailExcellent written, verbal , interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and accurately prioritize problems & initiatives
