In this role you will :

The Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for obtaining and reviewing clinical documentation, physician referral information, preparing necessary consents for in office procedures and prepping electronic medical charts for upcoming appointments. Will also be responsible for pre visit phone calls to patients, creating x ray orders per clinic protocols, prior to scheduled visits, obtain test results and medical records as necessary. Position will be hybrid remote and in office after initial training and probationary period in office.

Key Responsibilities :To provide excellent customer service to all patients, visitors and coworkersPrepare all intake paperwork and electronic medical charts for scheduled appointments in an accurate, timely manner.Obtaining all diagnostic testing report, lab results or other pertinent medical records from outside facilities for scheduled clinic visits.Ensuring that all pertinent records, test results, imaging and referral information is made available in EMR within a timely manner.Prepares appropriate consents, excuse notes, DCW25 work comp status forms and patient education materials for visit.Reviews schedule for appropriate scheduling, errors or duplicates.Performs pre-visit phone calls to patients to verify any procedure preparation or testing and to obtain necessary imaging discs and reports.Organizes and scans all chart prep documentation for assigned clinic to designated drive.Enters appropriate x ray orders into EMR.Enters any appropriate pre visit documentation into patient chart in EMR.Ensures the safety and security of all PHI in accordance with state and federal HIPPA regulations.All other duties as assigned.About You:

High School DiplomaMinimum of 1 year of previous experience in medical office, as an LPN, Medical Assistant or CAN required.Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical medicine, and diagnostic testing.Requires strong organizational and time management skills, and familiarity with EMR.At FOI our goal is to provide our patients with world-class orthopedic care.
