JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance develops, updates and assists in the implementation of the internal controls. Lead participant for the internal and external audits. Develops cost effective methods to safeguard the gaming operation's assets. Acts on financial matters in accordance with the gaming operation's internal controls, policies and procedures ensuring that the general ledger work is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with GAAP. Maintain compliance with Ordinance, State Compact, and YNGC TICS.

Ensure and maintain compliance with all ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations including but not limited to: NIGC Regulations, Yakama Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls and other communications from regulatory personnel.Directly supervises and provides leadership to the Assistant Controller-General Ledger, Revenue Audit Manager, Finance Trainer and Purchasing Manager.Ensures adequate coverage for Purchasing and Revenue Audit; oversees the supervision of staff, including work allocation, scheduling, training, and effective problem resolution.Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and makes recommendations to management.Continually evaluates and implements effective process improvement methodologies across all areas of responsibilities to increase efficiencies and maximize profitability.Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.Ensures company expenditure disbursements are executed in a timely fashion and comply with company policies and have been authorized and classified correctly.Review of income schedule, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.Complete books through trial balance and prepare monthly financial statements as required.Reviews accounts receivable-NSF checks for uncollectibility.Reviews the payroll register prior to checks being issued.Monitor banking activity on a frequent basis for unusual activity.Assists in keeping complete set of records of the gaming operation's financial transactions as required in the Tribal-State Compact.Coordinates audit work with the independent auditors and TGA auditors.Provides insights from analytical review of department data and feedback to management.Ensure that regulatory fees and taxes are paid as required by the State Compact and Ordinance.Issues and/or responds to required regulatory reports accurately and timely.Review and verify accuracy of all quarterly payroll reports.Review all expansion invoicing for accuracy and reasonableness. Approve and process draw requests supported by adequate documentation and justification.Process and submit unclaimed property filing.Serve as a committee member for the employer sponsored 401k plan.Review and approve requisitions requiring Controller level approval.Prepare and submit 5500 Audit of the 401k planPreparation and filing of required IRS tip reporting compliance forms.Ensure that all federal tax reports are filed correctly and within the due dates.Ensure that all vendors are licensed in compliance with licensing requirements of TGA.Pays attention to detail and conducts thorough research to make the best decision for the guest and the business.Must be familiar with and fairly enforces all policies and procedures contained within the Team Member Handbook.Builds relationships inside and outside of their department / team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.Identifies ways to improve workflows and processes to work smarter and increase efficiency.Moves the situation quickly toward resolution by efficiently managing and controlling the circumstances.Explains the "why" behind the resolution or action for the guest.Pays attention to detail and conducts thorough research to make the best decision for the guest and the business.Makes judgment calls based on understanding Legends Casinos' Purpose, Values and Objectives while utilizing research, knowledge, and experience.Proactively shares guest feedback with executive management and peers in the spirit of continuous improvement.Seeks to share and improve processes and workflows based on guest feedback.Finds ways to make good use of their strengths and talents. JOB REQUIREMENTS:SUPERVISION EXCERCISED:
Purchasing Manager, Assistant Controller-General Ledger, Finance Trainer and Revenue Audit Manager.
LICENSE REQUIRED:
Must obtain and hold a Class III gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
BA or BS in accounting or related field required. CPA required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork. Ability to sit for extended length of time and lift up to 35 lbs.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
Knowledge and experience in Indian gaming accounting, budgeting, financial software applications, financial reporting, and supervising/managing support staff. Minimum of ten years general accounting practice and at least eight years in a management position. Gaming experience required, Tribal gaming and hotel experience preferred.
