Our client, a dynamic commercial real estate investment firm, is seeking a critical member for their accounting team - this is a newly created position due to the growth of the company/portfolio. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and driving success across a diverse property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Accounting:Lead implementation and application of new accounting pronouncements relevant to the real estate industry.Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and fair value assessments.Financial Oversight and Review:Provide leadership and guidance to the Property Accounting Department.Review property-level financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP. No actual property accounting is performed in this role!Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.Generate insightful management reports to support strategic decision-making.Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.Provide oversight in variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.Cash Flow Management:Manage cash flow projections and optimize working capital.Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate reporting of construction and development costs.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement efficiency improvements within the accounting function.What Makes This Position Awesome:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.5-8 years of experience in technical accounting within the real estate industry.Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842).Previous experience in a managerial role, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively.
