We are hiring a Principal Project Manager to join our Engineered Solutions team. This position will manage a large, highly complex program with a long (5-6 year) program lifecycle that will span functions, organizations, geographic regions or cultures. Oversee and hold accountable direct reporting or matrixed project managers and team members to deliver program objectives. Partner with business development leaders to set strategy and to capture growth opportunities that advance strategic and business objectives. In addition, the program manager should have advanced skills in project execution, scheduling, contracts, supply chain management, finance, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution.

Example project disciplines include Engineering, Field Services, Software, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.

Your Day to Day:

Define and initiate projects and assign and/or obtain project managers to manage cost, schedule and performance of component projects, while working to ensure the ultimate success and acceptance of the program. Oversee and direct the authoring of project plans including developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Analyze needs and develop unique customer satisfaction and project performance metrics.Manage overall project performance to meet quality, schedule and financial goals as set forth by Westinghouse, customer and regulatory requirements. Direct responsibility for program financial performance. Ensure program sub-projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Oversee all work activities and motivate to increase performance. Manage program resource assignments (labor, equipment, supplier, etc.) to ensure program goals are achievable.Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives, and make recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent. Provide leadership to train, motivate and direct technical and administrative personnel to resolve issues during project implementation.Oversee closure of component projects within the program. Formally close program when all component projects are completed. Perform final program quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.Align stakeholder (e.g. team, customer, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representation, etc.) expectations to achieve overall acceptance of program objectives. Recognize the dynamic human aspects of each program stakeholder's expectations and manage accordingly. Effectively communicate program interdependencies and requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve conflicts and issues.Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.Who You Are:

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Advanced degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing or Business preferred.10 years of experience as project manager leading and directing high complexity projects to successful completion. 5 years in technical/engineering lead role and 5 years as project manager may be considered as equivalent. Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and solve complex problems. Proven ability to analyze information for complex decision making.Mastery of Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge.Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants. Familiarity with utility business practices including knowledge of utility operations, maintenance and engineering practices, knowledge of procurement processes and material management are desirable but not mandatory.
