Senior Platform Engineer (Remote - US)
Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and operation of a robust platform that enables product and service development across multiple teams. The ideal candidate is a seasoned developer with a strong background in building scalable and reusable system components using Kubernetes and AWS.
This is a fully remote position for candidates located in the United States.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and develop the architecture and capabilities for a high-performing development platform.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor AWS infrastructure using Terraform to support the platform's needs.
- Build scalable solutions by implementing Kubernetes custom controllers in Go, and develop shared libraries in Python and Typescript for consistent data, observability, and monitoring practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Security Engineering team to integrate secure practices into the core system to ensure client data protection.
- Apply an SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) mindset in maintaining and supporting the platform in a production environment.
- Advocate for and implement improved engineering techniques, methodologies, and design patterns within the team.
Requirements:
- 12-15+ years of development experience, particularly in backend and cloud-based systems.
- 4+ years of practical experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and monitoring solutions.
- 3+ years of experience working in a security-focused environment.
- Strong expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Go and Python, specifically when working with Kubernetes APIs.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows and tools such as AirFlow and dbt.
- Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake or similar technologies.
- Prior experience working in healthcare or with healthcare-related platforms.
