TITLE:

Product Manager, Digital Education

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Senior Director, Digital Education Initiatives

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Explore, recommend, and implement innovative and actionable insights on American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) digital education product strategy, including opportunities for product line expansion and integration of new technologies into current and new products that enhance the learner experience and drive revenue growth. Manage the development, production, quality assurance, and evaluation of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Pediatrics Review and Education Program (PREP) publications product line and other assigned products to ensure alignment with AAP member/customer educational needs, evolving trends and innovations in learning methodologies, and the overarching AAP mission. Manage product operational activities, including budgets, promotion, production, and customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support department leadership in the development and implementation of compelling digital product strategies to achieve AAP member/customer needs, organizational goals, and revenue growth.

2. Collaborate with supervisor and other relevant AAP staff on establishing product goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value outcomes.

3. Stay current on market digital technology trends and platforms and leverage knowledge to recommend and integrate new digital technologies into current and new education products.

4. Facilitate digital integration of educational products and platforms in support of the AAP vision, objectives, and requirements.

5. Oversee the quality assurance and troubleshooting processes to ensure functionality and a positive user experience with digital education products.

6. Develop and manage assigned budgets, report on variances, and recommend opportunities to increase revenues and reduce expenses.

7. Manage the timely development, production, and dissemination of the PREP product line and other assigned products.

8. Work in concert with the Digital Education content development team and IT to execute the PREP product strategy.

9. Oversee the management of the PREP Question bank database.

10. Consistently conduct market and user analysis to identify opportunities to enhance existing products and develop new products in the PREP publications product line, in collaboration with supervisor and other relevant staff and partners.

11. Manage global PREP activities and participate in the evaluation of other global education collaborations.

12. Ensure PREP continuing medical education (CME) activities are planned, developed, implemented, and evaluated in accordance with AAP CME quality standards and comply fully with the ACCME Essential Areas and Their Elements, Updated Criteria, Standards for Commercial Support, ACCME policies, and the AMA Physician's Recognition Award Program (PRA). Document compliance in activity accreditation files and complete files on a timely basis. Work with product managers to ensure ACCME Guidelines and CME rules are being followed.

13. Work with marketing staff to create and execute promotional activities for assigned products, analyze results and make recommendations for new marketing strategies and tactics, and international growth.

14. Work closely with relevant staff and others to integrate self-assessment features into educational products and the PediaLink platform.

15. Manage the RFP process and contract negotiations with outside vendors to ensure high quality, cost effective work and services.

16. Represent and promote PREP and other assigned products and publications at various internal and external events, including the AAP National Conference & Exhibition.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in education, business, publishing, or a related field required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

At least three years' related experience in digital publications product management and development, including full production life cycle, budgeting, market analysis, production, advertising, circulation, and marketing. Experience with digital education/publishing technologies, continuing medical education programs, and ACCME accreditation required. Experience with adult learning principals and CME publications experience preferred.

Must be able to think creatively, improve learning and workflows with technology, pay close attention to detail, take initiative, problem solve, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, project management, critical thinking, and verbal/written communication skills required. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, internet, and publishing software tools, and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with document collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint) and virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams) preferred. Some travel and evening/weekend work required.

Hybrid work environment of 40% of work time in the office per month.
