JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Accounting ("PA") Manager is a support position established to provide overall management, quality control and continuity of the project accounting function for Moran Environmental and its subsidiaries (the company). This position is key to delivering outstanding service to customers and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the accounting for and proper recognition of revenue and gross profit for the company.Monitor and analyze project-related profits and KPI's for the company.Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.Understand the financial operations of the company and how they contribute to the overall financial performance.Ensure proper documentation and support for contract modification, billing, revenue recognition and job costing.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Accountants, ensuring they meet project accounting objectives and deadlines.Oversee workload distribution, performance management, and professional development of the Project Accounting team.Foster a collaborative and accountable environment, promoting team communication and continuous improvement.Implement and monitor internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy in cost management, reporting, and project-level accounting transactions.Strong attention to detail.Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees and management.Participate in the development, management and implementation of key processing systems.Audit accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.Provide accounting support for integration of new business acquisitions, divisions, etc.Other duties and projects as assigned by executive management.Annual base compensation range for candidates in Seattle, WA: $125,000.00 - $155,000.00
Actual base compensation offered will be determined based on multiple factors which include relevant skills and experience. In addition to base compensation, full-time employees will be offered the following benefits:

At least 5 years of construction accounting experience or other relevant experience required, with at least 2 years in an accounting management position.Knowledge of contract accounting and revenue recognition principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.Experience working with accounting software and databases. Strong overall computer skills, particularly with MS Excel and construction accounting software.Display strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to understand and analyze components of jobs costs, profit and loss.Understanding of federal, state and local regulatory standards, including business and sales and use tax regulations, applicable to project accounting.Ability to serve as an outside representative of the company.Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar fieldCertified Public Accountant designation preferred.
