Job Summary:Bucknell University is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Communication. This position will assist the Director of Athletic Communications in improving and increasing awareness of the Bucknell Athletics brand through communications, creative writing, and student-athlete promotion. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt, benefits eligible position.
Job Duties:
Brand Management (20%)Maintain the athletics website through roster updates, information and scheduling updates, photo galleries, etc.Media Relations (20%)
Compose press releases, game previews, game recaps, feature stories.Game Day Operations (20%)
Set up press areas and computer applications before athletic events begin.Watch live athletic events and publish social media posts during the events.Communicate with media members, coaches and representatives from other universities on game days.Marketing/PR (20%)
Edit graphics that promote events and student athletes.Update digital page designs, flyers, statistics records.Administrative Duties (20%)
Attend planning meetings, brainstorming, collaboration with coworkers, etc.Communicate via email with other universities, conference office, etc.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeA minimum of two years of communications experiencePreferred Qualifications
Master's degreeTwo years experience in a college athletics departmentDirect experience with NCAA Division football programsExperience running social media accountsPhysical Requirements
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.Moderate physical activity.Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.Job Exempt:YesSalary Range:49,200.00-61,500.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
