In Viasat's Mobility Segment Product Management Team, we are looking for a technically focused product manager who can shape the direction and drive ongoing success of the provisioning of our Mobility Connectivity Platform. In this role, you will lay down the charter for products that will help automate the onboarding of new customers onto the connectivity platform and enable push button provisioning of new features.The day-to-day
Develop and iterate Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) in conjunction with market requirementsOwn the product vision and evangelize it throughout the organization - clearly articulate and justify the WHAT and WHY of any product effortBe responsible for the product business case, advocating for funding and resourcing for the product to realize valueBring the "voice of the customer" to the product by working closely with internal product teams, sales, marketing, customer success, operations, and users to prioritize feasibility, viability, and desirability of requirements.Define various internal or partner solutions and associated collaborations where applicableInteract with partners, customers, and prospects to define market requirements, and translate these requirements into market requirements (MRDs) that the engineering team can deliver to, on time, and within budgetCollaborate with various business segments on new product initiatives and feature releasesBe data-driven and focus on customer insights to develop product features and own product lifecycle through maturity.Act as the single POC for product needs, roadmap, prioritization, and communication of product plan across customer and sponsor communityEngage with the relevant solution partners and ecosystem players - both technically and commerciallyUse metrics to drive a deep understanding of our product market fit and its uses: evangelize, educate, and engage business sponsorsFacilitate build vs buy analysis for technology selection for the product development activitiesDrive success of the final product and improvement iterations on an ongoing basis with the team and other stakeholdersPresent periodically to senior executives at the corporation on the continuous evolution of product portfolioWhat you'll need
5+ years managing one or more products or experience like the above essential functionsDemonstrated experience working with global teams, strong collaboration, and communications skillsStrategic approach with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethicHighly motivated self-starter with experience working with Scaled Agile Framework development teamsDemonstrated experience influencing and leading cross functional teams to drive and deliver business justification to introduce and launch product capabilitiesFast learner and comfortable with technical details. You have credibility with the engineering community about technical tradeoffs, scalability, and performanceDemonstrated experience understanding of customer focused design thinking processAre productive. You know how to identify the most important issues, prioritize your time, and deliver results consistentlyPassionate about solving problems for customers and can define compelling products that address those needsExperience with executive sponsor managementBachelor's degree, CS degree or equivalent experience is preferred (MBA / master's degree a plus)Experience in Aviation and/or Maritime industry a plusAble to travel up to 20%

naSalary range
$129,000.00 - $184,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $160,500.00- $217,500.00/ annually
