Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under supervision from the custodial worker supervisor, or maintenance supervisor, provides all necessary custodial services to maintain a clean and healthy environment within and around county buildings.
ESSENTIAL JOB JUNCTIONS
Provide all necessary custodial services to maintain a clean and healthy environment within and around county-owned buildings.
Cleans offices, including, but not limited to:
-wash mirrors, doors, door glass, radiator
-dust blinds; dust and polish all furniture, including telephones, calculators, desk lamps and partitions
-sweep and mop floors daily; vacuum all carpeted areas, daily
-empty wastebaskets and replace liners, as needed, and wash wastebaskets, as needed
-dust and clean all books, bookcases and bookshelves
-disinfect door handles and phones
Clean bathrooms, including, but not limited to:
-replace tissues, paper towels and sanitary napkins as needed
-fill soap dispensers as needed
-clean all fixtures, mirrors and partitions, empty wastebaskets and replace liners
-sweep and mop floors
-clean walls
-disinfect door handles / latches
Responsible to perform custodial duties at all other County owned buildings that are within the control and responsibility of the Lucas County Commissioners.
Additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; safety practices and procedures; equipment, cleaning products and other materials used in custodial services; methods for cleaning.
Skill in operation of manual and motorized equipment. Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; safety practices and procedures; equipment, cleaning products and other materials used in custodial services; methods for cleaning.
Ability to count whole numbers; read signs and labels; communicate with supervisor; follow oral and written instructions; perform light manual labor, lifting up to 30lbs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of education, skills, or experience deemed to be acceptable by the employer.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbent may be exposed to cleaning chemicals and fumes. Incumbent may also periodically work under unsanitary conditions.
