has a great opportunity for a full-time Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS). We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving our patient’s lives by using a patient centered, collaborative approach to providing high quality of care. Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is conveniently located in Arlington Texas and is a psychiatric children’s hospital providing inpatient programs for children and adolescents. The CTRS’s responsibilities include the following: Develop therapeutic recreational activities for children and adolescents appropriate for their age, physical and mental health needs. Provide individual and group therapeutic recreational activities for children and adolescent inpatients. Complete group and individual notes for the participants. Conduct therapeutic recreational assessment for new admissions to the hospital, to ensure the appropriate activities are prescribed for them. Assist in maintaining the therapeutic equipment for the hospital. Qualified candidates for the CTRS position should have the following: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, or a master’s degree in Recreational Therapy. Active certification as a CTRS is required. At least 1-year working experience in a behavioral health setting preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply! Previous working experience with children and/or adolescents preferred. Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred. MUST be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Shift:
Full-time with some weekends and holidays required
