Job Description Summary
Ballpark Volunteers:
The primary responsibility of our volunteers is to provide our guests with a positive experience through the roles of Greeters, Guest Services Personnel, and Ushers primarily during the Spring Training season.
**All volunteers must attend the orientation on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 10 am - 2 pm.
Essential Functions
Volunteer Requirements for the 2025 season Volunteers must have availability to work a minimum of 8 games, but are able to work more if they are able. Volunteers will provide availability based on days and not games, i.e. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during the Spring Training season. Volunteers will be scheduled according to availability. All volunteers will be required to work the entire game unless dismissed by a supervisor on a game-by-game basis (reasonable accommodations will be made for those who need it). Must be 18 years of age. Must submit a background check. Requirements
Greeters - position description
Greet all guests with a warm, "Welcome to Goodyear Ballpark, enjoy the game." Assist guests with wayfinding and other information. Provide guest assistance during evacuation. Ensure entrance/exit area is safe and free from obstructions. Provide friendly exit acknowledgement to departing fans, such as "Thank you for coming-please travel safely." Assist as needed in other areas of the ballpark. Work entire game, unless directed otherwise. Guest Services - position description
Staff the Guest Services window inside the ballpark. Serve as a guest resource, answering questions, providing information and accommodating guest needs. Provide wheelchair deployment services throughout the ballpark. Offer customer assistance to guests along the concourse area, suggesting shorter concession lines, locations of souvenirs, restrooms, etc. Coordinate Lost and Found. Assist as needed in other areas of the ballpark. Work entire game, unless directed otherwise. Ushers - position description
Direct guests to proper seat or ballpark amenities. Maintain ticket discipline and prevent guests from sitting in other than their ticketed seats. Keep concourse and seating aisles free from loitering and gathering. Respond in a positive and professional manner to guest complaints. Greet all guests with a warm Goodyear Ballpark welcome. Keep Home Plate end of dugouts clear as directed. During each half inning, assume position at the bottom of the seating rows facing the crowd, then return back to the concourse position after the final warmup pitch. During game action, attempt to minimize seating aisle traffic until there is a break in the action on the field. Provide guest assistance during evacuation. Respond to the location of an injured or ill guest and notify First Aid. Do not leave the guest unattended. Keep all spectators a safe distance away from the area. Keep the main aisles clear for medical personnel. Anytime a ball or bat enters the seating area, check on the well-being of the guests and respond accordingly. If there is an injury, the usher signals for medical personnel. Assist as needed in other areas of the ballpark. Work entire game, unless directed otherwise.
